The Election Commission has made a minor change by notifying the November 25 first phase Assembly polls on Tuesday instead of October 29, as was decided earlier, election office said.

The change was made because of a holiday to mark the Chhath festival. There will no change in the rest of the schedule for the five-phase elections for 81 seats, it said.

November 5 will be the last date for filing nominations for the first phase while November 7 is date for scrutiny and November 10 the last date for withdrawal.

The rest four phases will be held on December 2, 9, 14 and 20. Counting is scheduled on December 23. This is the third Assembly elections since Jharkhand was created on November 15, 2000.
