Gift milk programme was launched by Chief Minister Raghubar Das today for 10, 000 students of Government schools in Latehar district. The program under the ambit of Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department is run through CSR of NDDB and rural electrical corporation.
The CM also launched the vitamin A and D fortified Shakti milk of the Medha brand today.
Under gift milk, each of these 10, 000 school children will be given 200 ml of flavoured milk every day for all 5 working days in a week. Flavours for all 5 days will be different. This will not just help in removing malnutrition in the children but also help in the development of their brain and fight with the vitamin and calcium deficiency.
The Chief Minister also announced today that from next year 1,00,000 ( 1 lakh ) students of 10 different districts will be given gift milk program under the umbrella of the agriculture department.
The Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department will approach more and more companies under CSR to support the initiative.
