Chief Minister Raghubar Das directed to escalate revenue collection, which is necessary for welfare schemes of poor. He specifically asked mines department to increase revenue and start 6-7 new mines, for it will generate revenue, employment and development. 

“Start mines in given time frame and in the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, review it in every two months.” -said CM.

Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting to increase revenue collection of industry, mines and geological department. He gave special instruction for safe mining and to increase production of Emerald in Jharkhand and also asked to auction them at the rate decided by Central Government. 

Department secretary Sunil Kumar Barnawal told that 40 percent more revenue has been collected in the financial year 2017-18 than of last year. This year target is 8500 crore. He instructed to speed up works to start coal mines. 3-4 coal mines can be started in 3 months. A permit can be obtained online now and there will be a review soon on possible misuse of online permits. 28 blocks are ready for auction of stones and 21 sand ghats are also identified for JSMDC. Work on these will start soon and because of this revenue will increase. 

Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathy, Additional Chief secretary Finance Sukhdev Singh and others were also present at the meeting.
