Investigations revealed that motor bikes used by the CRPF personnel prevented casualty in Topchanchi forest in Dhanbad on Saturday.

As it is,a team of 25-odd jawans belonging to 154 battalion were on Long Range Patrol by motor bikes inside Topchanchi forest in Dhanbad district when Maoists trigerred a series of 52 IED blasts in a distance of 1.5 KM.Six of them who got injured were undergoing treatment in Ranchi.

The serial IED blast was suspected to have been planned and executed by CPI(Maoist) ultras led by zonal commander Nunu Chand Mahato.A senior CRPF officer told www.jharkhandstatenews.com that the security forces succeeded in keeping the impact at a low level.

“This was simply because they were moving by motor bikes and not any four- tyre vehicles. This kept the impact of 52 IEDs blasts in the air and thereby minimized the losses”,said CRPF officer.
