The state government has sanctioned about Rs 12.32 crore to different departments for organising successful Sharvani Mela-2016-17 in Deoghar and Dumka districts of Jharkhand.

The Department wise details of the amount sanctioned were made public by Additional Chief Secretary,Planning and Finance,Amit Khare on Wednesday.

Khare said that while Home,Jail and Disaster Management Department was given Rs 70 lakh;the Health,Medical Education and Family Welfare was provided Rs 81 lakh;Urban Development and Housing Board was given Rs 5.49 crore;Tourism,Art and Culture,Sports and Youth Department was given Rs 1 crore;and Information and Public Relations Department was given Rs 90 lakh.

The month long Shravani Mela begins July 20 and ends on August 18,2016.During this period,thousands of Lord Shiva devotees are expected to come from Nepal,Bhutan,Sri Lanka and across the country to offer prayers at the Baidyanath Dham temple in Deoghar.
