Come the Teachers’day(September 5) and the Ranchi based school teacher, Mangla Prasad Mishra teaching Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics since 1985 in the Plus II section of the Marwari School, will get the National Award from President Pranab Mukherjee.

He is the only known teacher in schools across Jharkhand,whose students have never failed in any examination rather they have secured almost 100 percent results in Board examinations year after year .

“If students are taught properly and innovatively,they are bound to excel”,says Mishra. His mission, not an easy one, is to teach students, innovative methods to score in examinations.

Mishra,is not only an author of 36 books and 300 published articles on issues connected with science,environment,development,food,nutrition,health,plants and insects but also a blogger,a columnist of the Hindi daily Dainik Jagaran, President of the Jharkhand chapter of the Maneka Gandhi run NGO ‘People for Animal’ and has been tirelessly working for protection of birds and increasing the population of sparrows since 1991.

State of Jharkhand acknowledged his achievements and awarded him in 2009. If his resume is of any indication,he has been coordinator of science activities in schools of Jharkhand for over ten years.Above all,he is humane in outlook and conduct.He is credited to have attended many sick students,their parents in hospitals and even helped them monetarily by straining his family’s monthly budget.
