Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today visited two drinking water supply spots-Hatia and Kanke dams-and directed the officials to deepen these dams as soon as possible.

The CM directed them to use their Departments to start the deepening work because the process to bring out tenders will take time.”Two months are left for the monsoon to set in.Use the JCB machine to deepen the surface of these dams”,said the CM adding that he will visit these dams and take stock of the work on April 30.

“The deepening work should be carried keeping in view the needs of the people in the coming 30 years”,said the CM while directing the Secretary,Drinking water,AP Singh and Ranchi City Commissioner Prashant Kumar.

The CM opined that the population and needs of water supply were increasing rapidly.In view of this,the water spots should be deepened and the work must be carried in a time rame.”This should be done so that the people don’t have to face any problem by 2017.

During the spot inspection,the CM was accompanied by the officials of the concerned departments.
