Jharkhand is set to make a mark by flying the world’s largest Tricolour atop the country’s tallest flagpole at the Pahari temple in Ranchi.

The Ranchi Tricolour will be up for a “trial run” this week, according to temple management official.

Standing tall at 293 feet, and measuring 99 by 66 feet, the entire project cost is estimated to be about Rs 1.25 crore.

“We will add aviation light and a lightening arrester on top of the flag post,” said Deepak Bhardwaj, the CMD of Urmila RCP Projects Limited, the company contracted to build the flag post.

The temple committee has written to the Chief Minister to get the Prime Minister for inauguration of the flag.
