Who will be the next DGP of Jharkhand?

This question was in the lips of almost every police person in Jharkhand on the eve of retirement of DGP GS Rath tomorrow.

Rath’s second in seniority,Rajiv Kumar,DGP(Home Guards)   is 1981 batch IPS officer.Since he still has over three years of service left,he was the natural choice.

But the state government reeling under the President’s rule is reportedly considering the candidacy of Rajiv Jain,who is currently on deputation in New Delhi.

There is also rumor that the state government was keen to bring an upright IPS officer from outside the state to man the top post.In any case,it has to take a decision in this regard at the earliest.
