Target:Rs 28,400 crore;Collection 19,175 crore.

This was the record of the state government during the financial year 2017-18.The registered growth rate is just 67.51 percent against the target set by itself.

Although the cause was not made public by the state government led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das till date, Jharkhand finance department was led by Amit Khare and Sukhdeo Singh during the success and failure years 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively  

Even two main revenue earning departments, revenue collection of Rs 1245 crore was below the target of Rs 17,930 crore during 2016-17.This means in comparison to 2016-17, Rs 1245 crore less was collected during 2017-18. 

In six revenue collection departments, the state government had set the target of Rs 28,400 crore.All these departments were far below the target-i.e. 36.25 percent against the target of 72.9 percent, according to official data. 

For instance, the Commercial Taxes and Land Revenue Department collected 72.9 and 36.25 percent respectively.However, among other departments which had collected more funds than the target were Transport and Mines departments.

Primarily to increase the revenue, the state government had started selling liquor during 2017-18.But the result was far below the target, it is learnt.
