Plumber,electrician,computer and mobile phone repairer.With the demand of these technicians increasing by the day,the state prison department has decided to impart vocational training to prisoners undergoing imprisonment in different jails in Jharkhand.

The aim behind the move was to make them skilled so that they can get self employed after they get out of jail.

To begin with,the vocational courses will be introduced in five jails in Ranchi,Hazaribagh,Dumka,Jamshedpur and Dhanbad.

In Ranchi,the course related with electronics and electrical training is slated to start this month.Ranchi Jail’s staff Narendra Singh said that in electronics,the training programmes include repair works of computer and mobile phones.

Likewise in electrical training programme,the expertise connected with the repair of electrical equipments is to be imparted.’The experts will teach and train the prisoners’,said Singh.
