The Unique Identification Authority of India’s Director General Ram Sevak Sharma is likely to be Jharkhand’s next Chief Secretary.
Sharma,a Jharkhand cadre IAS,who is credited to have built a solid infrastructure for the IT Department in the state before joining the UIDAI as its Director General, had more than three years of service left.
This was considered another plus factor for him to lead the state’s bureaucracy. Since his administrative capability as well as his knowledge and expertise in IT were well acknowledged, the tech saavy CM Arjun Munda, who has vision to use the Information Technology Communication to make the governance accountable and transparent, vived well with Sharma.
In any case,if he is preferred by the CM who manages to bring him back to the state from Centre where the UIDAI DG is on deputation,Sharma can succeed Chief Secretary SK Choudhary who is slated to retire in January next year.
