Jharkhand State Electricity Board pulled the extra power to keep Ranchi lit up today.

The decision to divert power of other district to Ranchi was taken by JSEB;s chairman SN Verma. The aim was to keep and maintain zero-power cut in Ranchi, especially during the ODI match between India and England.

Normally,Ranchi consumes 220 MW every day.Today it consumed 225 MW.

To keep the state with uninterrupted power supply,JSEB procured 100 MW from Tata Power.”This was done to ensure that if there was any shortage,it could be met with the surplus power”,said Verma.
