In a meeting with top functionaries of the state police,Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday directed its top brass to act against criminals by breaking their economic and support system and launch the night patrolling in highways across the state.

“This can help contain crime”,said the CM.

“Jharkhand has to be turned into a crime free state.The CCTVs should be installed on central jails.A sense of fear of the police should grip the criminals”,observed the CM.

“Ensure that prisioners appear in court through video conference”,said the CM adding that those persons who were doing good work in civil defence should be awarded.

Also the CM directed senior police officers to advertise the state government schemes meant to provide relief to the victims of crime in rural areas”,said the CM.

The CM forwarded these directives while reviewing the works of the state Home,Jail and Disaster Management Departments.The meeting was attended among others by Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma,Additional Chief Secretary NN Pandey,DGP,DK Pandey,CM’s Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar and others inside the Project Bhawan,Ranchi.
