Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma on Monday directed the state Municipal Corporations to implement construction of toilets on a war footing.

“Review implementation of toilet construction works on a regular basis,speed up process to examine applications and get the fund transferred into the accounts of the beneficiaries”,said the CS while addressing the review meeting through video conference with the state Urban Development Department in Ranchi on Monday.

The meeting was attended among others by the Department’s Principal Secretary AK Singh.

During the meeting,the following facts were recorded.One,1.23 lakh applications for construction of 1.70 lakh toilets were received and the funds were transferred during the past 15 days.

The CS directed that construction work of all toilets be completed by October 2.She also directed the concerned officials to expedite PM Awas Yojna and Skill Development Schemes in Jharkhand.
