The U.S. Consulate Kolkata, in association with Jharkhand not-for-profit organization ‘The Butterfly Project’,on Monday organized a half day workshop on ‘Empowering Young Entrepreneurs’ at Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration in Ranchi.

The workshop was conducted by U.S. speaker on Entrepreneurship Juan Sabater for 40 students of leading management schools like IIM-Ranchi, BIT, XISS, ISM Dhanbad, St. Xaviers College, Women’s College Jamshedpur, KIIT Bhubaneshwar, IMS – RU. The workshop focused on how to start a business and raise funds.

Andrew Posner,Public Affairs Officer,said in his remarks that “Today’s topic of empowering young entrepreneurs is something that excites him personally.”

“While travelling through East and North East India,I have noticed that the spirit of entrepreneurship is strong,but young business people without their own resources lack access to information and capital.Incubation centres and start ups fulfill a need of the hour in the region.You will be glad to know that U.S.Consulate Kolkata is working on ways to support entrepreneurial efforts in Ranchi”,said Posner.

Malvika Sharma,from the Butterfly Project,said,’This workshop is the need of the hour for Jharkhand.The focus for the session was on how to start your business and how to raise funds-which are issues which plague each budding entrepreneur.This session is a promise to show the right direction to the 40 budding entrepreneurs”,he said.
As global partners,the US and India are committed to provide leadership on issues of shared interest.The sharing of best practices and strengthening entrepreneurial platforms for continued networking and engagement plays an important role in the partnership,said a statement issued by the organiser.
