Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel will appear before the court in Ranchi and her statement will be recorded under Section 313 of the CrPC on February 27. 

This means Ameesha Patel who is out on bail in the cheque bounce case has gone on record saying that the complaint against her was false and the complainant had 'spread an environment of bias by creating a public spectacle' in connection with the cheque bounce case.  

Notably, Ameesha had surrendered before the Ranchi Civil Court. She had appeared before the court personally again on 21 June,2023 when senior division judge DN Shukla granted her bail. 

As per details, the case dates back to 2018 when Jharkhand-based film producer Ajay Kumar Singh had registered a case of fraud and cheque bounce against Ameesha. 

She had countered it saying, "The judicial system will finally handle the false complaint that was filed with ulterior purposes. The Honourable Supreme Court has halted the proceedings for fraud and breach of trust because it is seeing it through as it should."
