Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren are on Cloud 9 right now when they have landed in Varanasi to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

Their followers have pumped in scores of wishes and greetings to them. However, the political circle was abuzz with speculation as to whether Kalpana, mother of two kids and a housewife, will join politics and contest Assembly polls.

As per their schedule, they will offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and participate in Ganga Aarti today when they will spend their night there.

On Saturday, they are slated to visit Mirzapur. After offering prayers at the Ma Vindhwashni, they will return to Ranchi in the evening.

Kalpana, a resident of Mayurbhanj in Odisha, was married to Hemant Soren, son of revolutionary ex-MP and JMM Present Shibu Soren. They had tied the nuptial knots in an arranged marriage.

Rumors doing the rounds in JMM corridor is after Soren who had won from two Assembly seats-Dumka and Barhet-will quit Dumka Assembly seat to retain Barhet from where he had won for the second time in 2019 Assembly polls. And Kalpana can contest Dumka's seat in the Bypoll.

"Which is why perhaps they have sought blessings from the God Shiva in Varanasi", said a JMM supporter who was close to Soren's family. Though she was far away from 'politics' and runs a playschool, Kalpana together with Hemant was seen meeting Governor Draupadi Murmu and attending the oath-taking function of the CM and his cabinet colleagues on December 29,2019.

Replying to a question of whether she will contest Dumka's seat-Kalpana had opined that she will do what family decides.
