The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the southwest monsoon is expected to arrive in Kerala by May 31, with a typical deviation of around seven days. 

The monsoon typically progresses northward, covering large parts of the country by July 15. In its latest bulletin, the IMD has issued forecasts for various weather phenomena across the country.  

High-speed wind and rains are predicted in several parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, UP, Odisha, Assam, and North Eastern states during May 16-19.
