Ranchi based Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) held a consultative meet on Rights of Child with the focus on rights for creation of a better tomorrow in collaboration with Save The Children.It was held on Friday.

Dr. (Fr.) Alexius Ekka S.J. Director, XISS welcomed audience.The Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Arti Kujur, Chairperson, JSCPCR.Other panellists of the meet were, Mr. Mahadev. Hansda, General Manager- State Program, Save the Children, Dr. K. K. Bhagat, Professor, Dr. Anant Kumar, Associate Professor XISS, Ms. Prity Srivastav ,CPO, UNICEF Office for Jharkhand, Dr. Monohar Lal, Principal, Gurunank High Secondary School, Ranchi.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Raj Shree Verma from XISS and Ms. Soumi Haldar from Save The Children. It was attended by professors of XISS, Dr. Prof. M.H. Ansari Head Of Department (Rural Management), Dr. Sant Kumar Prasad, Dr. Niranjan Sahoo representatives from government bodies and various organisations contributing towards child issues. 

Various aspects of child rights were discussed like Child and Sexual Abuse, Child and CSR, Child Rights and Legislation and Contribution of stakeholders like Schools in context with Child Rights. The session was an interactive one, with the speakers engaging the audience and allowing for questions.
