Rush 3.0: The most awaited two day’s Sports & Cultural fest of IIM Ranchi, witnessed humongous participation with more than 1500 students participating from all premier colleges of the country like IIM Calcutta, IIM Raipur, IIM Samabalpur, IIM Bodhgaya, XLRI, XIMB, IIT Kharagpur, SP Jain and local colleges like BIT Mesra, NUSRL, RIMS, NIFF.
The first day of the fest began with a cricket match between IIM Ranchi and IIM Sambalpur. Winning the toss, IIM Ranchi decided to bat first and set up a target of 116 to win, there was great excitement in the air as the game progressed till the last over with 7 runs to win from 3 balls. The match proved out to be indeed a thrilling one as IIM Ranchi held their nerve and won the match by 1 run. The second match was between IIM Bodhgaya and Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ). CUJ after winning the toss had put a huge score of 208 runs to which the opponents retaliated with a score of 96 runs, resulting in a win by 112 runs for CUJ.
Meanwhile, the first day also witnessed a basketball match between Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) and IIM Sambalpur. CUJ with their stellar performance and skill had won the match with the points being 69 to 29. Table Tennis on the other hand, also witnessed the same result as CUJ continued their winning streak in the game against IIM Sambalpur with a lead of 3 to 1.
In midst of all these events, Carom-singles event was hosted with IIM Ranchi battling it out with IIM Bodhgaya in a two round head to head challenge. IIM Ranchi emerged winners on both the rounds thus proving their mettle and determination.
The melodious evening saw huge amount of participation in solo instrumental and solo music competition. The crowd enjoyed the mellifluous songs sung by participants from several colleges, including BIT Mesra, IIM Samabalpur, IIM Bodhgaya, XLRI, XIMB, IIT Kharagpur and many more. Following which, the dance competition was organized which added more fun to the event as all the participants mesmerized the audience with their energetic dance moves.
At the end of the day, the crowd started to gather for the rock and roll performances of bands in “War of bands” event as 6 teams from St Xavier’s, IIM Ranchi, XIPT Ranchi and Ranchi university battled to find out the best band. It was followed by a glamorous walk down the ramp by the students of IIM Ranchi in the event of Fashion Show.
