There has been a tremendous rise in the number of arthritis patients, especially in the developing countries, with around 50 per cent people being affected in the last two decades.

The disease is catching up fast in India after only diabetes, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rheumatology Department president Dr Uma Kumar reportedly said on the eve of World Arthritis day to be observed tomorrow.
