Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today said that farmers, tribals and women of Jharkhand must be empowered for the state to develop.

“While sitting in Delhi one cannot develop Jharkhand. Unless we empower farmers, tribals and women of the state Jharkhand cannot move forward,” he told reporters after addressing a rally in Shikaripara.
Earlier addressing the rally, he accused the ruling government at the Centre of being pro-industrialist.

“They only want to work for a few industrialists because they are the ones who fund their campaigns,” he said.
