Responding to the ‘Kolhan Bandh’ called by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Sunday(April 24,2016) when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to conclude the Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday((Village Self Governance)campaign in Jamshedpur,the state administration has tighetended security and clamped Section 144 CR.PC.
Even security forces have been deployed in strength and raids launched to nab JMM activists who were planning to enforce the bandh in Kolhan division in protest against the domicile policy notified by the BJP government led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.Incidentally,Kolhan comprises three districts-East Singhbhum,West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan-in Jharkhand.
“Many JMM activists had gone underground to prevent their arrest”,said a senior JMM leader in Jamshedpur.
In Ranchi,capital of Jharkhand where the PM is scheduled to land on Sunday to fly to Jamshedpur by chopper,Section 144 CR.PC was clamped and security forces deployed in a large number.The Birsa Munda Football stadium was turned into a camp jail to keep the arrested activists during the day.
At JRD stadium in Jamshedpur,Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to conclude Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday campaign by addressing nearly 40,000 Panchahayat representatives mobilised by the state government agencies,ruling BJP and its allies.
As it is,the concluding session comes ten days after Prime Minister Modi had launched Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan to strengthen Panchayati Raj in villages and ensure social harmony in rural areas across India.
It was launched on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at his birthplace at Mhow, Madhya Pradesh.
