The opposition Congress and the ruling BJP are at it.Consider the Congress first.Though this party had failed to get organizational polls conducted, its nominated leaders were gearing up to launch agitations for empowerment of panchayats in Jharkhand. The agitations,in the form of rally, dharna and demonstration, are planned to be held at the panchayat, block, district and the state level for ten days during November 20-30.

These agitations, planned at the directive of the Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, will be led by Pradeep Balmuchu in Kolhan(East and West Singhbhum),Subodh Kant Sahay in South Chotanagpur,Rajendra Prasad Singh in North Chotanagpur,Dheeraj Prasad Sahu in Palamau and Furkan Ansari n Santhal Pargana.

Alongside, the headquarter office of the ruling BJP in Jharkhand is crowded.Inside, partymen led by Team Arjun Munda are gossiping about the 2014 polls.”Whatever the outcome of several scams and scamesters who had robbed the nation,Congress will be wiped out this time”,predicts Naveen Singh,a party worker.

His prediction notwithstanding, ruling BJP led by Chief Minister Arjun Munda and state unit president Dineshanand Goswami claim that the party has set a record by enrollng nearly 2 lakh new primary members. This has jacked up the number of its primary members from 5.50 lakh in the past to 7.50 lakh now,Goswami said.

As per the party’s mandate, there has to be a growth of atleast 20 percent of its primary membership. But the percentage of actual growth was around 40 percent, said Goswami.

Similarly,if there were 15469 active members in the past, their corresponding figure this time is likely to cross 25,000.

As of now the party which had already conducted polls at the level of ward and booth, was busy checking the bonafides of the newly enrolled members.Since the party’s constituton was amended, any office bearer can be elected for the second term.Goswami said, the organisatonal polls will be concluded before November 15,Jharkhand’s 12th establishment day.
