From Central jail to RIMS hospital (jail) ward to RIMS Director's Bungalow turned into jail by the state administration in Ranchi, Ex Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav has covered a long distance.

In any case, the Central jail in Jharkhand capital city can not be a safe venue for any prisoner today when many of them (as many as above 55 of them) including its staff had tested COVID-19 Positive.

Yadav, the founder of the Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD), is a convict in multi-crore fodder scam, was shifted to the RIMS Director's bungalow today.

Notably, RJD with a strength of a single MLA in 81 -Member Jharkhand Assembly is an ally of the ruling Congress-JMM led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Against this background, the RIMS administration forwarded a file writing a letter to the Birsa Munda Central Jail authority. The letter sought to shift Lalu Yadav on the ground of COVID-19 patients whose number was rising by the day at RIMS hospital in Ranchi as well. In response, the Central jail authority soon cleared the file.

Notably, Yadav was convicted in four fodder scam cases and he was awarded up to 14 years of imprisonment in each case. He was serving a term in jail. and had spent a large part of his sentence while undergoing treatment at the RIMS' jail ward and now RIMS Director's Bungalow where he has got a cook, an attendant, and a group of security guards to take care of him.
