Jharkhand Assembly witnessed the opposition BJP and its ally AJSU MLAs’ protest on Friday. They demanded the resignation of CM Hemant Soren on alleged charges of corruption.

In fact, these opposition parties have raised two main demands.

One, disciplinary action against ex-Principal Secretary to CM Rajiv Varun Ekka who was summoned by the ED to join its probe two days back on March 15, in connection with a purported video in which he, an IAS officer, was seen signing documents at the premises of a person who is under scanner in the case related to the arrest of IAS officer Pooja Singhal.

Ekka, who also held additional charge of Principal Secretary, Home, was transferred to the Principal Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) levelled serious allegations against him.

The second demand of the Opposition BJP- AJSU MLAs was connected with their allegation of “corruption” against CM Hemant Soren and his resignation.

However, on Friday they did not indulge in sloganeering. They had not come to the Assembly wearing tee shirts, each carrying a slogan against the corruption of the ruling JMM- Congress- RJD coalition government.
