On the second day of the 72-hour agitation launched by the Jharkhand Students Union against the employment policy of the Hemant Soren government, all roads lead to Jaipal Singh Stadium in Ranchi.

The students are coming to the Jaipal Singh Stadium from different areas of the state. From there they plan to take out what they call “masal julus”(torchlight procession) this evening.

The masal julus will move toward Albert Ekka Chowk, centre of the capital city of Jharkhand where the agitators are slated to shout slogans and highlight their demand- withdrawal of the 60-40 reservation policy of the Hemant Soren government,

In effect, the traffic on these roads leading to Albert Ekka Chowk is bound to get affected. However, the police administration has deployed forces to maintain traffic and law and order.

On the concluding day of their 72-hour agitation, Jharkhand Students Union has called for a state-wide bandh on Wednesday.

On the first day of their agitation, Morahabadi maidan and the roads connecting the CM’s official residence in Kanke Road were turned into a battlefield between protesting students and police. Though the police had managed to drive them away by using force, resulting in the injuries of scores of them, agitators did not bow down.

They are making use of social media platforms to carry forward their agitation demanding the withdrawal of the 60-40 employment policy of the Hemant Soren government which does not seem inclined to oblige them.
