A war of words is going on in Jharkhand. On one side is the Congress MLA Irfan Ansari. On the other side are BJP leaders - Babulal Marandi and Nishikant Dubey.

The subject of dispute between them is centered around his controversial statement made by Ansari saying the Mahagama assembly constituency is “ mini Pakistan”.

Mahagama which is represented by Congress MLA Deepika Pandey Singh falls in Godda Lok Sabha constituency represented by the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.

Recently, Jharkhand High Court directed the state and central government to explain what details were available about the infiltration of Bangladesh residents into Sahebgunj, Pakur, and Godda. Media reports have shown large-scale infiltration of Bangladeshis in these constituencies resulting in a change in the demography of these districts.

Against this backdrop, Ansari had observed that if the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has to be defeated, a Muslim candidate will have to be put up in “mini Pakistan” - Mahagama in Godda.

This statement of Ansari promoted BJP leader and former CM Babulal Marandi to pounce back on him saying, “ It has exposed his mind. Even his father Furqan Ansari had saved the rioters in Ranchi on June 10, 2022”.

“His heart is anti-Hindu. Naturally, moral words will not come out of his mouth”, says Marandi.

Reacting to Marandi’s criticism, Ansari said that when he ( Marandi) was in Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, “ he used to loud me as a secular leader.”

The BJP MP Nishikant Dubey lashed out at Ansari and referring to his “ mini Pakistan” statement, said that there is nothing new.”

It is part of Congress and JMM’s agenda… Their main aim is to increase the Muslim population in Santhal Pargana and Jharkhand and use their votes to win elections.”
