The second day of the monsoon session of the state Assembly began with a protest. Inside the Assembly, the opposition BJP created a ruckus.

After the supplementary budget was filed by the treasury bench, the session was adjourned till August 1.

Outside the Assembly, while talking to press persons, BJP state unit President Babulal Marandi said that the state government is not willing to discuss issues of “violence”  and deteriorating law and order in Jharkhand.

“Inside the floor of the Assembly, the government talks about the Manipur issue forgetting that the situation in the state was not too good”, said Marandi.

Marandi further said that the scene in the state is such that the prisoner inside the jail demand ransom on mobile phone and if not paid, opens fire. “

The state government does not hold a discussion on this”, fumed Marandi adding that he had information that “ several officers hold telephonic talks with prisoners inside the jail and ask them if they had breakfast and lunch.”

Inside the Assembly, the protest of the opposition continued. On Monday, the state forest department organised a tree plantation programme slated to be participated by Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato.

Against this backdrop, Speaker Mahato adjourned the house till 11 am on Tuesday.
