Ahead of Independence Day 2023, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is busy preparing himself to unfurl the national flag at Morahabadi Maidan in Ranchi.

In view of his schedule connected with constitutional responsibility toward the Independence day function on Tuesday, CM Soren is learnt to have sought a week time from the Enforcement Directorate to appear before it in the money laundering case connected with the land scam.

The ED is examining his reply and is going to issue another summon to Soren. However, how much time the central agency will provide to him is still not clear.

Last year, Soren had appeared before the ED after seeking an extension in the date of its summons twice on November 17, 2022. He was questioned in an illegal mining case connected with money laundering.
