Security men are going back to the barracks and the ED office located along the Birsa Munda road looks vacant.

This change was visible in the post-lunch period on Thursday, hours after security forces were deployed to maintain law and order on the occasion of the ED’s summon issued to CM Hemant Soren to appear before it on August 24 in the alleged land scam cum money laundering case.

However, CM Soren, instead of appearing before the ED, preferred to proceed to the state secretariat and

Reports said, that CM Soren was exploring legal remedies to avoid getting interrogated ( “grilled”) by the central investigating agency.

Responding to the first summon by the ED asking him to appear before it on August 14, Soren had sounded critical and blamed the central agency for playing a “ political game”.

In turn, the ED had replied and told CM Soren that the central investigating agency had nothing “ political” to summon him as it had invited him on the basis of evidence indicating the involvement of him and his family members in owning Benami properties held by them through proxies.

The CM Hemant Soren who belongs to the opposition INDIA camp, has preferred to keep his stand on the ED’s second summon as top secret.

In his latest interaction with media and in response to a query by journalists, he had indicated that he was trying to move court against the ED’s summon.
