Minutes after the Jharkhand High Court rejected his criminal writ petition observing that it was not worth hearing, Hemant Soren and his counsels began exploring legal options to move the Supreme Court.

Alongside, the Enforcement Directorate officers and their legal representatives were reportedly waiting to get the court’s ruling.

The division bench of the Jharkhand High Court comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen heard counsels of both Soren and ED.

The criminal writ petition was filed by the petitioner( Hemant Soren) challenging the legal authority of the ED to issue summons and had sought a directive of the court to invalidate it.

The division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen rejected his plea commenting that it is “not worth hearing.”

Now, Hemant Soren has the option to move the Supreme Court challenging the Jharkhand HC’s order.” We are in touch with our legal advisors. We will act as per their advise”, said a source close to the CM.
