On the eighth day of its raids,a team of 12 Income Tax sleuths today conducted search operations using Jio surveillance devise at Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu’s ancestral house at Lohardaga in Jharkhand.

The Jio surveillance devise provides ultra-clear visuals. It makes possible by high bandwidth, and helps analyse by an artificial intelligence (AI) software which classified them into a grid of individual faces and by a list of actions performed by them.

This video analytics system by Jio gave life to the ‘boring’ old CCTV cameras by analysing facial features and movements of people.

The IT personnel had visited Lohardaga house of Sahu along with his three family members. Information gathered indicate that IT sleuths suspect Sahu and his family members had kept jewelleries, and other moveable properties hidden in underground tunnels.

“The Jio surveillance devise can detect these hidden properties”, said a source involved in the IT raid.

Adequate security forces comprising CISF personnel were also deployed inside Dheeraj Sahu and his family members’ Radium road, Ranchi house.

They were trying to check drains and other underground set ups there, it is learnt. Incidentally, raids at the premises of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu entered the eighth day on Wednesday with officials entering Lohardaga house of Dheeraj Sahu.

As of now, no official statement has been made by investigating agency. However, it is learnt that the Income Tax Department has seized a record of over Rs 353 crore in cash during the raids at properties linked to Sahu at multiple locations in Odisha and Jharkhand.

The cash haul is the "highest-ever" in a single action by any probe agency in the country, according to officials. Income Tax officials have deposited all the seized cash at a SBI main branch in Odisha's Balangir and Ranchi, capital city of Jharkhand.
