Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is learned to have told his coalition parties’ MLAs that he will not step down.

The meeting of the ruling coalition comprising JMM, Congress, and RJD, was attended by 37 MLAs.It was held inside his official residence in Ranchi this evening.

The meeting was convened by CM Soren amid ED’s raids at several premises including that of his Press Advisor Abhisheikh Prasad alias Pintu.

Addressing the MLAs, CM Soren greeted coalition parties’ MLAs and after wishing them “Happy New Year”, rubbished the media reports that his wife Kalpana Soren will succeed him.

Soren had earlier dubbed this as rumour spread deliberately by the Opposition BJP.

Even during the meeting of the legislature, he reiterated the same point. Most MLAs reportedly supported their leader Soren who told them that he would fight against the ED’s allegations legally and politically and not resign from his post as the CM.
