Bihar appears to be heading for a political quake.  Nearly sixteen months old CM Nitish Kumar led Mahagatbsbdhan government comprising RJD, Congress and Left is likely to fall.

Reliable reports indicate that Nitish Kumar could switch sides again and form a new government in the state with the support of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

If he did so, Nitish could colour himself as a super “paltu ram” this time. Nothing exceptional, except that it makes a radical difference in the politics of Bihar.

In effect, Nitish Kumar will shatter the I.N.D.I. Alliance he had conceptualized and founded as a leader.

Alongside, he will not only strengthen the NDA led by Prime Minister Modi in the forthcoming LS general elections but also manage to re-gain success for most of his party’s MLAs and MPs in Bihar where the “Modi Wave” is understood to be blowing right now.

As it is, one of the root causes responsible for making CM Nitish Kumar change gear against Mahagatbabdhan was understood to be the “pressure” of his party’s MLAs and MPs to opt for a “safer platform” of the Modi-led NDA ahead of general elections 2024.

Aware of it, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and his son cum Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav were reportedly busy mobilizing support among MLAs of the Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) and other parties to form a government with the support of the Congress and Left.

The speculation about the ongoing quake in the Mahaghatbabdhan led by CM Nitish had gained momentum with hectic parleys by key stakeholders in the Bihar government — the RJD and the JD(U) — on Thursday and Friday afternoon.

While RJD leaders, including its MLAs and senior leaders of the state, had met at the residence of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish held a separate meeting with his own MLAs.

Another separate meeting is scheduled to be held at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi with state BJP leaders, including former deputy CM Sushil Modi and party chief Samrat Choudhary.

This was on Thursday. Today, BJP MLA Gyanendra Singh Gyanu opined that the NDA will win all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar if JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar joins hands with the JP Nadda-led party.

The remark came amid rumours that Nitish Kumar is planning to dump ally RJD and stitch an alliance with the BJP. The MLA said Prime Minister Narendra Modi likes Nitish Kumar. He said, "everything will be sorted out in two days".

"A change is certain. It is a matter of a short time now. In the BJP yesterday, the party has also taken a decision. Nitish ji is also ready.

PM Modi also likes Nitish ji. NDA will win all 40 seats in Bihar if Nitish ji joins us....I think everything will get sorted in two days.

There will be an NDA government in Bihar," he told news agency ANI. BJP MLA and LoP of Bihar Legislative Assembly, Vijay Kumar Sinha, also gave a major hint about a possible alliance.

Inquiry revealed that while ex-Bihar CM Laloo Prasad Yadav had held meetings with RJD leaders including the Assembly Speaker in an attempt to gain a magic figure to form a government led by his son Tejaswi Yadav as CM, CM Nitish Kumar was reportedly involved in “ bargaining” to get the CM post with home portfolio in hand.

The outcome of political change is expected to be witnessed by Monday.
