The political drama in Jharkhand is shifting gears from Hyderabad to Ranchi. And all those over three dozen MLAs of the ruling coalition JMM- Congress who were flown from Ranchi to Hyderabad on Friday to spend quality time at the “Leonia Holistic Destination” at Shamirpet, are learnt to be returning to Ranchi on Sunday evening.

Now they are going to attend the Assembly session convened by the Champai Soren government to prove a majority on the floor of the Assembly on Monday.

They -about 40 MLAs - belonging to the ruling JMM-led alliance in the state had gone to the Telangana capital amid the coalition’s fears that the BJP may attempt to “poach” them in the run-up to a trust vote to be faced by the newly-formed Champai Soren government.

Back in Jharkhand, four JMM MLAs such as Chamra Linda, Sita Soren and Lobin Hembrom were absent from the group of Hyderabad fliers.

Now, Sita Soren who has been critical of the Hemant Soren government was keeping “ silence”. On Sunday, Lobin Hembrom met JMM chief Shibu Soren and signalled that he would vote in favour of the Champai government on the floor of the house on February 5.

This development indicates that Champai Soren is set to prove a majority on the floor of the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly.
