Opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc on Sunday displayed its show of strength in Jharkhand's Ranchi as the Lok Sabha elections have kicked off with first phase polling concluded on April 19. 

The Ulgulan rally was participated by several groups of people who had gathered from far and wide places including West Bengal. The event was marked by a scuffle between two groups of Congress and RJD over “seat sharing”. 

The cops had to restore peace. Another TMC supporter was spotted wearing a cap with four bands, each carrying the flag of TMC led by CM Mamata Bannerjee. The second phase is set to take place on April 26.

The rally was attended by I.N.D.I.A  block leaders including Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, party MP Rahul Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren.

However, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not attend the Ulgulan rally. Rahul Gandhi is “ unwell”, reports quoting Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh informed. “On the I.N.D.I.A  block's rally, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said:

"My message is very clear that we are together in this fight against BJP's growing autocracy... They are not allowing the opposition to function properly; what they are trying to do is to silence the opposition. We are seeing a high rate of inflation, joblessness and women not getting a safe environment... “

In the first phase of the election, not many people, but those who have come out to vote have come out to change these people (BJP), who have been showing this dictatorial tendency." Representatives of 28 opposition parties participated in the Ulgulal( uprising)rally. 

Notably, after the arrest of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in money laundering case, I.N.D.I.A bloc has push his wife Kalpana as JMM's face amid the ongoing polls.

In several posters put up by the ruling party, picture of Kalpana Soren was visible minus the picture of CM Champai Soren. 

The event called the ‘Ulgulan (uprising) Nyay rally’ will be held in the afternoon in the Prabhat Tara ground. 

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge,Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM leader Champai Soren, Punjab CM and AAP leader Bhagwant Mann, and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh were among the top opposition leaders who addressed the rally.

Each spoke at length against the BJP government led by PM Modi on issues of price rise, unemployment and so on. 

Also. the I.N.D.I.A bloc appeared to have laid focus on the arrest of the JMM’s former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
