The Assembly polls in Jharkhand and Bihar is likely to be held after the season Diwali and Chhath.
Both Diwali and Chhath festivals when scores of people from Jharkhand and Maharashtra undergo temporary migration,fall in between October 29 -Nov 3.
Aware of it, the Election Commission may prefer to hold the Assembly polls in these states in aftermath of these festival.
Notably, by polls in 45 assembly seats across different states, besides Lok Sabha seats of Wayanad and Basirghat, are expected to be held during the upcoming Assembly polls in Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
 The terms of the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly end on November 26 and January 5, 2025.
In 2019, Jharkhand had witnessed five phases of polls whereas Maharashtra had recorded the same in one phase.
In J& K, the EC successfully organised assembly polls in three phases. Against this backdrop,the assembly polls in Jharkhand and Maharashtra are expected to be held in lesser number of phases after Diwali and Chhath.
The EC can announce the schedule of assembly polls any time now onwards the coming week.
