The Information and Broadcasting Ministry today said that security clearance is a prerequisite for grant of permission to TV channels.

The Ministry has initiated action towards cancellation of permission in cases where it is denied or withdrawn.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said in the Lok Sabha that no private TV channel has been permitted to operate without obtaining the security clearance.
