On complaint of a villager, the Jharkhand Vigilance Department sleuths caught a Junior Engineer red-handed while accepting bribe at Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district.

The Junior Engineer Arvind Hembram, who was posted at Sadar Block in Zilla Parishad’s MANREGA section, was allegedly accepting Rs.20,000 from a contractor to enter the PCC road construction work done when the vigilance team arrested him, sources said.

A villager had complained to the vigilance department about the demand made by Hembram and the vigilance officials accordingly laid a trap.
