The film policy of Jharkhand has been hailed by film personalities. “It will certainly strengthen possibilities of film production in Jharkhand, which is blessed with natural beauty,” Mumbai-based film producer Ashok Saran has reportedly said.

He said the state government’s proposal to set up a film city in Patratu in Ramgarh district would provide opportunities to personalities to exhibit their talent.

Documentary producer Meghnath has supported the policy as well as the proposal for a film city.

It is yet to be decided whether the film city would be in the pattern of Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad or Film Development Corporation of Kerala, an official release said.

Jharkhand Director of Information and Public Relation Department Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, said the state government framed the policy to encourage film production as well as to address problems faced by film personalities of the state.
