The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition seeking a thorough investigation into whether Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his family members used money to secure his acquittal in the 2002 hit-and-run case.

A Bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, dismissed the petition filed by Delhi-based lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma.

The court termed the plea as ”allegations without any basis” and said that the main controversy regarding the acquittal is already being heard by the apex court.
