Jharkhand capital Ranchi is set to witness scores of joggers running under the Narendra Modi government's programme- Fit India RAN-O-THO.

Today, Union Drinking Water and Heath Secretary Parameswaran Iyer met Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and apprised him of the national programme. Later a press conference was held inside Birsa Munda Football stadium giving details of the mega event-Fit India RAN-O-Tho in Ranchi on February 23.

As per the program schedule, participants will have options to run and cover a distance of 10/21-5 KM. The Fit India RAN-O-Tho will start from Morahabadi Maidan at 6 AM morning."We want more and more youngsters to take part in this event", said Parameswaran.

Already, a website was launched. This website  www.ranchimarathon.com provides an opportunity for all citizens to participate in the sporting event meant to keep people healthy, wealthy and wise. With the state CM Soren giving green signal to the programme, Parameswaran Iyer is busy organising it in league with the state Drinking Water and Health Principal Secretary Aradhana Patnaik and Ranchi Municipal Corporation Commissioner Manoj Kumar.

Notably, records show that PM Modi had requested Iyer to return from the USA. And on his call to work for Swachch Bharat initiative, Parameshwara, a 1981 batch Utter Pradesh cadre IAS officer, who took voluntary retirement about nine years ago in 2011, returned and ever since then he is credited to have successfully implemented Swachch Bharat Mission across India.

No wonder why even Fit India RAN-O-THO owes credit to both Modi and Iyer. Giving a para on Fit India RAN-O-THO,www.ranchimarathon.com has a one para text saying:

"To be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It's about winning and losing; It's about every day hard work and about thriving on a challenge. It's about embracing the pain that you'll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid. I think people think too hard and get afraid of a challenge."
