Guatemala, a Central American country south of Mexico, is home to volcanoes, has witnessed a splendid performance by the Indian Archery team in the Archery World Cup. 

Former world number one and princess of Jharkhand Deepika Kumari grabbed a gold medal in the Archery World Cup stage 1 at Guatemala on Sunday.

Also, the performance rubbed off on the mixed pair duo of Atanu Das and Ankita as they bagged a mixed pair bronze, inserting top seed USA 6-2 with yet another fightback at Lis Arcos on the same day.

In all, India wins 3 Gold and 1 Bronze medal. 

Their victory brought cheers among members of Archery fraternity, MYAS, Sports Authority of India, Ranchi, AAI, ASI and Tata Group. “ We are happy. It’s a very proud moment for all of us”, said Gautam Singh, an Archer.
