Jharkhand chief secretary SK Choudhary,who was to retire today,got the extension in service for two months.
Now,he will retire on March 31.
The extension was granted by the President Pranab Mukherjee following recommendation of the Union government’s Department of Personnel and Training.
This was deemed necessary for two main reasons.One,the state under the President’s Rule could not find his successor.Two,since the financial year ends on March 31,his replacement can adversely affect the development works.
