Three-Day Capacity Building Programme has concluded and all members returned with memories of events connected with fresh knowledge.

The final day of the three-day Capacity Building Programme, organised under the aegis of the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP) at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, concluded successfully today( August 25,2025).

Certificates were distributed to the Presidents and Members of all District and State Consumer Commissions of Jharkhand during the valedictory session.

The third day began with a session by Mr. Akshay Yadav, Research Scholar at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, and Co-Founder of Ramkrishna Law Firm and Research Centre. 

 

He provided detailed insights on "Dark Patterns and Price Fluctuations", along with "Penalty, Offences, and Warrant under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019". The session included an in-depth discussion on the criminal law aspects of consumer protection.

The second session featured Mr. George Cherian, Senior Development Professional/Consultant (Consumer Law), who shared his expertise on "Food Safety and Labelling". He provided important information related to food quality, packaging, and consumer rights.

The post-lunch session was conducted by Dr. Rajeshwar Kumar, Director, Indian Institute of Legal Metrology, Ranchi, who delivered a lecture on "Legal Metrology and Consumer Rights". He highlighted the standards of weights and measures and their significant role in consumer protection.

The day concluded with a high-level panel discussion involving Dr. Rajeshwar Kumar, Mr. George Cherian, and Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil, Vice-Chancellor of NUSRL, Ranchi. The discussion centred on several key aspects of consumer protection.

Mr. Abhinav Gupta, Faculty Convenor of CCRP, expressed his gratitude and said, "The contribution of all experts, participants, and the organising team has been invaluable to the success of this programme. We extend our thanks to the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, whose support made this programme possible."

The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony, during which certificates were distributed to all participants. 

Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil, while sharing the key highlights of the programme, stated this. 

"This programme is a significant step towards strengthening the consumer justice system. We are confident that this training will play a crucial role in protecting consumer rights in Jharkhand. We will continue to organise such sessions in the future to enhance your capabilities. 

Experts from across the country participated in this three-day seminar, and we endeavoured to ensure that every piece of information relevant to improving your work reaches you."
