Jharkhand Public Service Commission has invited Online Applications from eligible citizens for Jharkhand Eligibility Test(JET)- Assistant Professor - Ph.D, after a break of almost 18 years.

This test is for the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and Admission in Ph.D in Universities and Colleges of Jharkhand in the light of Rules for Jharkhand Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor and Admission in Ph.D in Universities and Colleges of Jharkhand.

The date for filling application and its registration by JPSC is slated to begin on September 16,2025.

The successful candidates will be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor and Ph.D Researcher.

The online test will have two Papers. The total marks will be of 300 points. The paper 1, will have 50 questions of 100 marks. The questions will be on issues connected with Research Aptitude,Reasoning Ability,Reading Comprehension and General Awareness.

And Paper 2, with 200 marks will carry 100 questions.In this Paper, the applicant will be provided with questions connected with Subject of their choice.

The date of examination is yet to be announced by the JPSC.

Notably, JPSC had announced “40” percent vacancies in these posts in 2018. As these posts were not filled up,this has been making adverse impact on academic functioning of colleges and research works.
Aware of it, the state government has advised JPSC to again advertise seeking application for eligibility test.
