Jamshedpur is coming up with another mega park. This park will be different from the Jubilee Park, a large, well-maintained urban park managed by Tata Steel that was gifted to the city in 1956.
The new one is planned to be eastern India’s largest ecological park. It is being built over 195 acres on Amalgoda Road, Chakulia block, approximately 80 km from Jamshedpur.
It will be completed at a cost of Rs 23 crore. And maintained by the state forest department.
This ecological park is expected to emerge as a key tourist hub for Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar.
Developed under the supervision of Ranger Digvijay Singh, the state forest department’s project was completed in record time.
The park boasts a variety of attractions: four musical fountains, a boating club, a swimming facility, Navgrah Park, a children’s zone, a senior citizen area, rose and cactus gardens, a medicinal plant garden, sandalwood groves, Shiva Kund, ancient statues, and a community hall. A rest house and a large canteen add to tourist convenience.
The shortcoming of this Chakulia ecological park is that a narrow road links Chakulia railway station and market to the site.
Forest Department officials, including the PCCF, have inspected the park and praised its design. Ranger Singh stated that the park would serve not just as an entertainment center, but also as a hub for environmental education and cultural enrichment.
Located close to the borders of Odisha and Bengal, Chakulia’s geography makes it a natural tourist magnet.
Officials believe the project will significantly boost employment opportunities and the local economy while positioning Jharkhand as a green tourism hotspot.
