Jharkhand is expected to witness a shift in weather conditions over the coming days of Durga Puja festivity.

As per the prediction of Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning may occur in several parts of the state including Ranchi until 28 September.

This change is primarily due to the formation of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, which has altered wind directions and increased humidity levels.

Today, showers were observed in Ranchi and nearby districts during morning times, with cloudy skies persisting throughout the day.

The MET department has forecast light rain once or twice during the day in the capital and its surrounding areas. Residents are advised to remain cautious while commuting, particularly in open areas during thunderstorms.

The Met Department has highlighted that western, southern, and north-eastern Jharkhand may experience rainfall in the coming days.

Districts such as Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Latehar, Dumka, Jamtara, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj are expected to receive light to moderate showers.

Thunderstorms and strong winds, with speeds reaching 30-40 km/h, are also predicted during this period.
